Namecheap starts strong with a free domain name, speed, migrations, and extra plan feature like backups.
Namecheap is
best known as a domain registrar, but its web hosting plans might catch your
eye, too. A year of shared hosting for just $1.44 a month
This 'only' gets you 20GB storage and 30 email
accounts, but that's enough for many sites, and there are plenty of other
highlights: unmetered bandwidth, a free domain name with privacy protection, a
free website builder, easy installation of WordPress and hundreds of other
popular apps, free integration with Supersonic CDN, the industry-standard
cPanel control panel, 24/7 support via live chat, and a 30-day money-back
guarantee.
keep in mind the 3 most important factors of
WordPress hosting:
Speed – also known as “load time”.
Uptime – needs to be at least 99.94%
Customer Support – they should help you with WordPress-related questions.
WordPress
Namecheap's managed WordPress hosting range,
EasyWP is a little short on features.
As with shared hosting, the real highlight is the price. EasyWP Starter is $1 for the first month, then $3.88 billed monthly, or $1.91 a month on the annual plan, $2.49 on renewal. It's a very basic product, just 10GB storage, and support for around 50,000 visitors a month, but that's likely to be enough for many sites. SSL is extra, though, so again that's an additional $8.88 a year ($0.74 a month) if you opt for Namecheap's PositiveSSL certificates
The drag-and-drop website builder 'only' has around 200 basic templates, but they look good, and the simple editor enables extending your site with images, videos, social media content, maps, forms, calendars, countdowns, and more.
- Very low prices
- Starter plan hosts up to three domains
- Well-designed cPanel-powered site management
- Configurable VPS plans
Website Builder
Namecheap's site builder is available on all shared
hosting plans. It can be accessed through the website builder option in cPanel.
The site builder is a simple template-based,
drag-and-drop builder. There are nearly 200 templates to choose from. The
templates are pretty basic, but they are also clean and modern-looking.
The site builder features include:
- A drag-and-drop interface, so no coding knowledge
is required
- Plugins for social media, accepting payments,
adding video, and more
- Available in 45 different languages
- Mobile-responsive
- E-commerce capable
The early data indicates an average response time
of 912 ms — horrible. But something changed near the mid-point of the year.
After that, the load time was consistently under 500 ms, with an average of 419
ms.
Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting plans improve
your site speed and reliability by giving it guaranteed CPU time and RAM,
avoiding the fights over resources that you'll usually get with shared hosting.
These are the savings open for anyone to claim, but
hand-picked especially for small businesses.
Small businesses around the world have been thrown
into disarray because of lockdowns enforced almost everywhere. It’s been a
challenging time for everyone, and it may be some time yet before things return
to something that resembles normal.
Decent Load Time
After the uptime, the most important criterion is
speed. The reason it’s so important is that speed has been directly correlated
with visitor happiness.
Free CDN with Namecheap domains
Yes, a free CDN with custom SSL certificates when you own a Namecheap domain. I
pleasantly surprised by this and had to test it out; and well it's too good to
be true. The CDN performed well and everything was easy to set up but it
doesn't provide the performance as just using a free Cloudflare account with
their own SSL certificates.
DNS Updates
The DNS update times were almost double what I expected; it was a 2 Minute TTL time can be rather annoying while changing your DNS records and wanting to test them quickly instead we just used Cloudflare which gives almost instant DNS records updates.
Paid Plans
I felt like using a budget provider like Namecheap would be good for a
business like ours but in the end, I felt like all extra features were extremely
expensive after buying your domain name and we would just recommend using
another domain provider that has slightly more expensive prices if you wish to
have those other features like emails, SSL certs, etc.
I'm running +20 websites on a Namecheap Shared Hosting (Ultimate plan, now should be Stellar Plus) since 2016. Not an issue. Great support. More than 7500 unique visitors per month. Very fast and reliable. Way better than more "famous" alternatives.

Finally, offers aside, asking that everyone take a moment to think about what it means to be a small business at this time. To appreciate the function and competition they provide the economy with, whatever their industry.
I believe this information helps with your new website.
